Description: The Gallery was established in 1958. From its humble beginnings set in temporary premises the gallery has grown in stature and moved to its current location at Jalan Tun Razak in 1998.
The NAG's mission is to make the Gallery the premier centre and custodian of the nation's art heritage. Its mission is to collect, preserve, conserve and display its visual collection.
Its objectives are:
To acquire artwork that will reflect the spirit and personality of the nation
To preserve, conserve and document the permanent art collection
To promote and develop high quality art locally and overseas, organizing exhibitions, seminars, workshops, competitions and other art activities nationally and globally.
To create awareness of an understanding and appreciation of art
The Gallery assists and provides expertise to sponsors in organizing art competitions and programmes for children at state and national levels.
Talks, seminars, children's programmes, workshops have been platforms for curaptors, art educationists, administrators and artists to exchange views and ideas.
The Gallery is also renowned for its support and location for the distinguished Malaysian Video Awards, whereby Malaysian film-makers and producers of world class commercials gather for a week of festivities which culminates with an Awards Night.

In 1997, Art House Gallery organized the G15 Show, an exhibition of contemporary Chinese Oil Painting by fifteen great artists from China. The artists involved including Zhang YiBo, Li ShiJin, Zhao KaiLin, Wang WeiDong, Liu YingZhao, MaoLiZi, Yu Sheng, Di Feng, Zhu ChunLin, MaKeYu, Ma Lin and etc.
In May 2000, Hukun's Chinese Figures Exhibition was opened for viewing, and at the same time, The Art of Earth and Fire, an exhibition of contemporary ceramics from Taiwan makes Art House Gallery more bustling for art lovers and buyers.
It does not hold public exhibitions per se, as they have a private clientele. However, visitors are more than welcome to visit the Gallery. The Gallery also has a restoration workshop behind the gallery.

Galeri Tangsi Contemporary Art is located in the lobby of PAM Centre - a colonial building which houses the Malaysian Institute of Architects (PAM).There is a little garden too, perfect for cocktails and parties.
The name “Tangsi” was initially given after its street address for easy recognition. Ironically, “tangsi” in Bahasa Malaysia stands for a thin fine line of nylon - used by art galleries to hold/hang paintings.
Since its inception in October 1997, Galeri Tangsi Contemporary Art has grown both in scope and size. The gallery has also grown in reputation and is recognized as a major art gallery within the Kuala Lumpur art circle. It has been acknowledged by many art critics and establishments as one of the few established art galleries in Kuala Lumpur genuine in its intentions to develop and promote art.
Galeri Tangsi Contemporary Art has always incited interest through exhibitions that provoke the minds of art-lovers, artists and enthusiasts.
